Compliant and versatile harmful chemical sign
- The Health and Safety (Safety Signs and Signals) regulations 1996 clearly state that harmful chemical signs should be placed wherever there is a danger that employees might come into accidental or purposeful contact with hazardous chemicals. Harmful chemical signs should be used wherever there is a risk of exposure to solids, liquids, gases, mists or fumes. As well as having a duty to control access to these chemicals, an organisation has a legal obligation to provide adequate warning signs.
- This harmful chemical sign is part of our range of workplace warning signs which includes risk of electric shock signs and specific chemical signs such as danger acid signs and caution chemical store signs, all of which have a clear graphic and text message.
- Our harmful chemical signs come in an assortment of sizes. The A4 poster can be purchased in easy to install self-adhesive vinyl, as well as rigid plastic or polypropylene rigid plastic which allows for the easy drilling of screw holes. All three options are recommended for indoor and outdoor use and can be quickly installed in any location to meet your requirements. The self-adhesive vinyl option is particularly suited to curved surfaces as it has an easy peel backing. For more harsh environments such as freezers, dust zones or exposed outside areas, we recommend the rigid plastic option.
- As with all warning signs in the workplace, this harmful chemical sign gives a clear message with bold, black text on a yellow background. The use of the warning triangle and cross symbols emphasise the message given in the text. All harmful chemical posters are of portrait orientation.
- These harmful chemical signs come in single packs, but to deliver several messages at the same time without taking up too much space, you might also be interested in our range of multi-message health and safety signs.
- Guidelines for employers under the 1996 Health and Safety regulations are clear, all employees must be clearly warned of the presence of harmful chemicals.
